Seminars
Together with Hyphen Projects (www.hyphenprojects.nl), Van Leeuwenhoeck Research (VLR) will organize quarterly seminars based on specific themes in healthcare. Hyphen Projects is a young organization with an extensive expertise in setting up and organizing high quality conferences, networking events, seminars and other types of events, especially in the Life Sciences Sector. Because of their expertise and contact with local governments and potential sponsors, VLR has chosen to cooperate with Hyphen Projects for organizing the quarterly seminars.
The seminars are all based on a specific theme in healthcare and are aimed at presenting innovative companies and technologies before an international audience of investors (institutional), industry (international biotech and pharma sector), media and other professionals. The seminars are made public under the name BioBusiness Seminars, with subtitle the specific theme of the seminar (e.g. BioBusiness Seminar Oncology in October 2009). For the program of the seminar, more information can be found on the website: www.biobusinessseminar.com
Every seminar, 10-12 international companies, both private and listed, will be invited to present the latest developments before the audience. Next to this, the seminars facilitate 1-on-1 meetings between management of the companies and individual investors. In total we aim at 60 up to 100 attendees.
The purpose of organizing these kind of seminars is to further strengthen VLR as the financial expert in the Life Sciences Sector. In this respect we believe that the networking possibilities at the seminars is of vital importance.
The first seminar was organized organized on Thursday 22 October 2009 and was aimed at innovative technologies and treatments in oncology. At this first successfully held seminar, 10 companies presented the development of novel cancer treatments.
